The Focus International, founded by worship leader Monty Poe, is a ministry devoted to the study and development of intercessory worship. Monty's approach to worship follows Queen Esther's example of making personal preparation to approach the king in his royal courts. "If it pleases the king," was Esther response when called upon to state the business of why she had come before the king. She then expressed her desire to have the king come to her chambers for a banquet in his honor during which she honored, praised, and ministered to him. In fact, one evening was not enough! She invited her king to return the next evening for another banquet. All the while, the enemy watched unaware of Esther's strategic act of intercession that moved the king's heart in her behalf and saved the lives of her people. Likewise we approach the throne of God realizing as Esther did that worship is intercession. |
